In the past, in other cultures
people might have come to me for help, for guidance
- wanting my extra knowing, my awareness -
a kind of magic (still they expect but unacknowledged)
Now
I am supposed to go
to the non-experienced, the non-disabled
'professionals' 'consultants' 'specialists'
Special in what?
Special in their suits and expensive cars.
Not special in enduring for a lifetime
- knowing pain and mapping ones own body as unique
yet coping dramatically in a world which ignores this
